Sarah Wayne Callies
Raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Callies is the daughter of two university professors. She speaks basic Hawaiian and enjoys traditional Hawaiian music. Sarah has many hobbies. She enjoys dancing the Argentine tango and has even taken up low-flying trapeze. When not working, she spends as much time as possible at home with her husband, playing chess and cooking. They also like to get outdoors and backpack. They have a cat and plan to welcome a puppy soon.
Sarah really had her priorities in order when it came to school. She placed a strong emphasis on education and balanced her schoolwork with her passion for the stage. In high school, she landed her first lead in a production of Shakespeare's As You Like It. After graduating from the Ivy League's Dartmouth College with an undergraduate emphasis in Feminist Studies and a Senior Fellowship in Indigenous Theology in 1999, she attended Denver's National Theatre Conservatory to pursue her love of acting and to complete her Masters of Fine Arts degree.
Once finished with school, Callies moved to New York City and secured her first acting job on camera, a role opposite Oliver Platt in Queens Supreme. She has since appeared on Law and Order: SVU and Dragnet. During this time, she was also chosen as one of the new faces of L'Oréal, and has been featured in an advertising campaign for the company. Callies landed the role of Jane, in the short lived series "Tarzan" on the WB in the fall of 2003. Life after "Tarzan" has been good to Sarah. She landed the lead role in the ABC show "The Secret Service", and got the female lead in the movie, "The Celestine Prophecy", which is slated to hit theaters in 2006. Sadly "The Secret Service" never became a reality, ABC chose not to pick it up for the Fall 2004 season. After some waiting, FOX cast Sarah in a new show called "Prison Break" in which she will be playing Dr. Tancredi. "Prison Break" is slated to run in the Fall 2005. The movie world again openned it's door to Sarah, when she was cast to play Roxanne in the upcoming thriller "Whisper" (now entitled "Hellion"). "Hellion" will be coming to theaters sometime in the winter of 2006.
